Gunongan is a symbol of the power of love to the queen of Sultan Iskandar Muda is very beautiful, the daughter Phang "Putroe Phang" comes from Pahang, Malaysia. In a story, Phang Putroe often feel lonely in the midst of the husband as head of government. He always remembered his hometown located in Pahang.
The husband Sultan Iskandar Muda understand anxiety queen. For the happiness of the queen, then he built a small mountain of "Gunongan" as a miniature hills that surround the palace Putroe Phang located in Pahang. After Gunongan completed by Sultan, how very happy the queen. Then His days were spent playing with maids around the structure's history, as he climbed up. Gunongan located at Jalan Teuku Umar faced with the grave site of the Dutch soldiers "Kerkoff".
This building was built during the reign of Sultan Iskandar Muda in the year (1607-1636) 17th century. Gunongan building is not too large, hexagonal, has the shape of flowers and a three-storey main level is a crown pillars standing upright. An inscription on the building right to explain this place was built during the reign of Sultan Iskandar Muda who ruled Aceh in 1607 - 1636. At the rear of the structure's history there is a square-shaped building that was once the garden which is then used as the burial place of Sultan Iskandar Thani, daughter of Sultan Iskandar Muda. This place became known as the cage.
Gunongan three all-white level is high as 9.5 meters with a peak-shaped building flowers are blooming. I am grateful to be able to visit this place on a short trip to Aceh early last October 2012. While pursuing a small tunnel to the summit Gunongan I imagine the queen sunbathing ritual that time
Circular hallway floors to the top of the grass and the walls are lined Gunongan shaped petals with flowers in every bud. Naturally, when the queen to make this place as a place to entertain themselves, because of the summit the queen can be observed around the palace.
On the left side of the front structure's history, there is one big stone steps which have shaped hollow in the middle. Surroundings steps that resemble the petals decorated carvings. Of the father who welcomed us in Gunongan (sorry, forgot to ask his father's name), I was briefed that stone steps called penterana this stone, was once used as the coronation of the Sultan.
Talking about the coronation of the sovereign, there is a tragic story of beloved Crown Prince Sultan Iskandar Muda, Meurah Pupok. It is said that because of perfumed love at Putroe Phang also the Sultan Iskandar Muda did not catch a conspiracy carried out by Poetro Phang to get rid of Meurah Pupok stepped to the throne.
Meurah Pupok die tip of the sword of his father as a punishment for adultery is exhaled by Poetro Phang. The bodies of the Crown Prince was not even allowed to be buried in the royal cemetery. Meurah Pupok finally buried outside the palace of Darul Donya, exactly in the middle Kerkhof Peutjut now.
Cage, the burial place of Sultan Iskandar Thani who was in the rear of the structure's history.
After the death of his son, Sultan Iskandar Muda highly admired and loved by his subjects often looked gloomy until finally fell ill and died. Conspiracy to eliminate the Crown Prince was no longer just a rumor because it reinforced the rising Sultan Iskandar Tani derived from replacing Pahang Sultan Iskandar Muda.
