Baai Island is the name of sea port which is owned by the city of Bengkulu, the port was inaugurated by President Soeharto in 1984. This region is known to be very beautiful panoramic view of the coast, besides the presence of Mangrove habitat that grow naturally around the shoreline provide an impression for visitors.
Pulo Baai is one of the Port which is located not far from the center of the city of Bengkulu. There are waters and fisheries of interest to visit. Lots of marine beauty and culture that can be seen and learned from there. I try to visit some places there and deepen what I can see, because there is not just a port of course but there are also some interesting places and sometimes do not realize the locals and tourists.
1. Ports and Bahari Village
When you sign in Pulo Baai region and towards the dock, we will pass underneath the bridge is merapatnya fishing vessels that are used as a dock and fishing spot. Not far from there there is a maritime village, where livelihoods number one there is fishing and making fishing nets. Kampung nautical and culture is one of the objects that are very interesting to explore the story.
Port is the main function of Pulo Baai. Ports used for passenger ships to smaller islands such as island or island Enggano Mice and export cargo ship. Colorful boats contrast with the color of the sea is very indulgent eye and made me not stop taking pictures. Walk a bit to find the fish auction, unfortunately I found a baby hammerhead sharks are sold and sold like ordinary fish :(
2. Loading and Coal Harbour
A bit far from the port of the weeds to be found illegal, the train station is not so very interesting to photograph. Not far from there will begin to appear landfill and loading coal and coal port for exports. Heavy equipment, mountains of coal, and the thick smoke is a common sight.
3. Hidden Beach Pulo Baai
Not far from where the coal loading, there is a small path led toward the beach. Rocky road, and right and left are the original houses made of wood surrounded by lush palm garden. The beach is a continuation Pulo Baai Indian Ocean coastline. Structure and fine white sand and the waves are not too big and the current is not as strong in Bengkulu long beach, so it is suitable for play and swim.
When you sign this coastal area as has a private beach, no one at all, the atmosphere is calm and the beach is very clean no rubbish. From a distance I can see the fishing boats and large ships sail and when the afternoon sun is very pretty biased down to the west.
